Cataract Surgery Registry

 

The Cataract Surgery Registry was established in 2002 to collect data on patients’ profile, surgery practice and outcome on cataract surgery. For further information of this registry, please click on Publication to review 2002, 2003 and 2004 annual reports.

 

Objectives of CSR

1.

To determine the frequency, distribution and practice pattern of cataract surgery in Malaysia

2.

To determine the outcomes, and factors influencing outcomes of cataract surgery

3.

To evaluate cataract surgery services

4.

To stimulate and facilitate research on cataract and its management. 

 

Participation

All ophthalmology departments at MOH, Ministry of Defence, university hospitals and private eye care providers are invited to participate in this cataract surgery registry.
Inclusion criteria: All patients who have undergone cataract extraaction surgery. Exclude patients who have secondary implantation of IOL in an eye previously operated for cataract.
